Justin: In the Feast of Being Able to. Amen.

Steady Drizzle

Friday evening

Impression of Laredo was wrong. I expected another el paso. Laredo is a bit nicer.

People keep speaking to me in Spanish.

Despite six semesters of college Spanish, I know very little. So my options, as I see them, are:

+ repeat what is said to me

I tried this on the hotel elevator and I THINK it went something like this:
“hold the door!”
“hold the door.”
“thank you”
“thank you”
“wow, you’re a retarded out of towner If I’ve ever seen one.”
“No thank YOU.”

Or my second option would be:

+ Reply to them in Vietnamese

“that’ll be 12 dollars and 67 cents.”
“let’s all go to the coffee shop! Hurry hurry!”
“do you speak English?”

So it’s a tuff call.
